Reflecting on Reflections

Reflecting on Reflections

The other day after completing the A-Z Blogging challenge, all who took part had the opportunity to share their thoughts. Once I began reflecting on the month of April and 26 days of blogging, I began to look back even further. My very first blog was September 19, 2007 on MySpace which I do not subscribe to anymore. However I did find a hard-copy of the blog I had written. It was about being thankful. I made a commitment to write every Wednesday.

In that blog I wrote ‘sometimes it’s necessary to give up what you hold dear to realize what is important.’ It seems that it is time to give up what I hold dear again. You see my husband and I have been very comfortable living in this little house in South Carolina. Times are tough. My husband has not had a raise or even a cost of living increase in the past eleven years. He has never once told me to find a real job, even though we continue to go further in debt. My job is writing, but it doesn’t pay much. God love him for putting up with my blogging and candy crush addiction. My goal was to have the next book completed by the time he graduated. You see he used all of his vacation time he had accumulated at his job to go to school to better himself. I failed, he succeeded. And here I am procrastinating on finishing the book again by blogging.

But I’m being led to write about what I feel and I feel that God is leading us on a journey. He always has been. I feel He is leading me to share this journey with you. I will try to keep the posts short because I know most people don’t want to take the time to read long dragged out stories. I write because I have to. I know blogging makes no money what-so-ever. I know procrastinating on the book is setting funds back even further. Sometimes, as a writer, you have to go with what is in your heart. Okay, not sometimes, always write from your heart. This project has been laying heavy on my heart. I hope you will enjoy our journey. We don’t know what is in store for us and sometimes it is necessary let go of contentment and go where God leads.

Welcome to taking part in our journey.

May God bless you all!
